Conservation

Conservation with regards to nature is generally defined as the protection, preservation, management and restoration of wildlife and natural resources such as soil, water and flora.

We believe that conservation of the African bush consists of a number of specific factors, including the management of reserves with the involvement of the local communities in and around those areas, the establishment of new protected areas of fauna and flora, the protection of species, support for sustainable tourism and local economic growth, and the ongoing scientific research of fauna, flora and ecology.

It is clear that effective conservation of the bush includes not only people getting their hands dirty building new roads, erecting game fences and fund raising, but also the tour operators and the tourists themselves who come to visit our reserves and wild areas, bringing with them much needed revenue and global support for the wildlife and flora of our countries.

This section will cover some general conservation issues to do with the management of game reserves, the different careers you will find in the bush, and a number of conservation charities, trusts and research projects that we support and to whom you may donate funds to directly.
